Did you know that in 2012 coal supplied 20% of our energy needs, with 65% being imported from Russia, Columbia the USA and Australia?
Gas supplies 35% of our energy needs and is imported from Norway, The Netherlands and Belgium (though their origin is unknown) as our North Sea reserves deplete.
Did you know that Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester spend £1.1 billion a year on imported energy?
Is there an alternative to paying the big energy companies for your electricity?
The answer is YES we can make our own energy locally, but we all need to declare our support for the drive to achieving it.
